Line Mon. Unit Description
This module has been designed to monitor the integrity of 100V Line speaker circuits. It is connected between the amplifier output and the speaker circuit. The module will detect one of three speaker line conditions. (Normal, Short Circuit or Open Circuit). LED indication is provided for each condition. A switched output is provided for each of the fault conditions. These may be used for sounding an alarm or muting the input of the amplifier to prevent excessive current draw in the event of a short circuit. Several modules may be connected to one amplifier for multi-zone installations. To function correctly, the speaker circuit must be wired on a loop-in, loop-out basis with a 100K Ohm end-of-line resistor fitted across the speaker line at the last transformer.Important Note: All speakers must be fitted with a 22µF Bi-Polar capacitor fitted on the input of the transformer.
